Course Summary
A Level Chemistry is a challenging subject that requires a variety of skills. You’ll develop analytical techniques, discover what is in a chemical, and try out industrial processes. Some topics build on GCSE work, some are completely new.
Course Details
The course covers:
- Physical Chemistry – kinetics and thermodynamics
- Inorganic Chemistry - the elements and how they react
- Organic Chemistry – carbon and the molecules made from carbon
Chemistry combines well with Maths and other science subjects requiring logical thinking skills and problem solving approaches.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment: End of course examinations, and ongoing assessed practicals.
Entry requirements
Subject Entry: General JC6 entry requirements, plus 6/6 in higher tier Combined Science or 6 in two single science GCSEs, including Chemistry. GCSE Maths grade 6.
