Course Summary

Do you enjoy watching and talking about film in a way that allows you to explore the deeper meaning? Film studies develops the analytical skills of English Literature and applies them to film. Along the way there are elements of psychology, sociology, and design but it always comes down to appreciating the art of the film-makers. You will also get to apply this understanding of film to your own creative project. Watching films for pleasure is a starting point, however, great film students will have a wider thirst for knowledge. Throughout the course you will do your own research into film contexts and develop your own understanding of the industry.
