Module 3 – Periodic table and energy
Module 4 – Core organic chemistry

Year 13:
Module 1 – Development of practical skills in chemistry (cont’d)
Module 5 – Physical chemistry and transition elements
Module 6 – Organic chemistry and analysis

How will it be delivered and assessed?

AS June of Year 12

Breadth in Chemistry assesses content from all modules (50%) - 90 minute exam Depth in Chemistry assesses content from all modules (50%) – 90 minute exam

A-Level June of Year 13

Periodic table, elements and physical chemistry assesses content from modules 1, 2, 3 and 5 (37%) – 135 minute exam

Synthesis and analytical techniques assesses content from modules 1, 2, 4 and 6 (37%) - 135 minute exam

Unified Chemistry assesses content from all modules (26%) – 90 minute exam Practical endorsement that is reported separately (non exam assessment)

Entry requirements

5 Grade 4’s and above to include Grade 6 in GCSE Chemistry or Double Science and Grade 6 in Mathematics.
