Course Details

FSD Academy offer football coaching/training to young people across the city. Are training programmes are designed for Males and Females who are passionate about Football and Sports.

The Diploma in Sport is the perfect entry point for youngsters who want to launch their career in sport. It offers a pathway to university, sport apprenticeships, coaching and work placements, and many of our former students have gone on to work within the FSD academy as coaches and mentors.

We believe that playing the game to a high level, as well as learning about it in the classroom, will enhance student development.

As well as education, our courses also include six hours of football training per week, strength and conditioning sessions in the gym, and matches.

Students will line up against other Future Lions Education teams in our U19 Future Lions League, as well as against local teams in their region in both league and cup competitions, with opportunities to be scouted by clubs in the Premier League and English Football League.

Your next steps...

Following successful completion of the first year, learners are offered a place on the second year of the programme, to study a further six units, equivalent to an additional 1.5 A-Levels.

Studying with Future Lions Education sets up players aged between 16 and 19 for life, with players from our sites gaining contracts in professional and semi-professional football, places and scholarships at universities in the UK and abroad, coaching apprenticeships, and even jobs in the armed forces.

At FSD we are passionate about learning, sport and our community, and we are especially committed to helping young people from all backgrounds get ahead in life to become the best version of themselves.

As well as studying and playing the game in an established football club environment, students will be taken on trips with their fellow team-mates across the UK and potentially abroad. Previous trip destinations have included Wembley Stadium, St. George’s Park (the state-of-the-art training centre for the England national team), and stadium tours, well as attending U23 matches through to UEFA Europa League games.
