Course Summary

WELCOME TO OUR AFDA EDUCATION HUB (COALVILLE TOWN FC):

Study a reputable BTEC course equivalent to 3 A-Levels whilst playing competitive football 4 times a week!

Do you want to work alongside former Premier League star Steve Walsh & World Cup International Footballer Muzzy Izzet? Having almost 900 professional appearances and scoring over 100 top level goals between them they have become 2 of the biggest Legends in the Leicester City history books.

Our unique program launched in 2014. Advanced Football Development Academy offers learners the opportunity to develop their football skills under the guidance of these former Leicester City players. We are delighted to have partnered with Coalville Town FC to provide an exciting option to the young people in Coalville and surrounding areas.

All of the education will take place at Coalville Town FC in a bespoke classroom that will be on site creating a high quality teaching environment for the students. We will be able to use their brand new 3G pitch which was opened in May 2024 with 1.1million invested into this exciting new project.

Our 2-year academic programme will allow you to play competitive football matches in the prestigious Future Lions u19s Super League & Development League competitions. Alongside this you will receive daily football training from our FA & UEFA coaching staff.

Wrapped around the football development programme is a reputable education programme with an excellent support structure to help you achieve a BTEC level 3 extended diploma sports qualification, which would prepare you for AFDA's Higher education programme, University, Employment, USA Scholarship or even, for those good enough, into professional/semi-pro football.

Our highly qualified sports lecturers will deliver a minimum of 12 hours BTEC Sports content per week and cover units such as Sports Psychology, Anatomy and Physiology and Sports Nutrition.

Any student at our Academy, if good enough, will be monitored and given professional club trials or a pathway into pro clubs. Muzzy and Steve will keep a very intensive check on your development over the period of the two years and any who show the ability, attitude and work ethic during this time to progress onto a pro club then they will certainly send you down this pathway using their extensive contacts in professional football cubs. Selected players will also be given opportunities to represent the Future Lions u19s representative squad against semi professional and professional opposition during the course of the academic year.

From a sporting view, the academy has a strong association with LCFC Youth Academy, of whom we've played on numerous occasions, most recently with our first team playing LCFC U18's at Belvoir Drive, with this in mind ongoing scouting opportunities are available for outstanding players at LCFC and other pro clubs.

Muzzy Izzet and Steve Walsh have strong links with many business organisations, clubs and individuals in the sports industry who would recommend any exceptional learners for work. There is also the opportunity to work for Muzzy Izzet and Steve Walsh's Academy either through coaching or assisting with schools & holiday camps.

We have American Scholarship Companies come in and deliver presentations to our learners to give them an insight into the benefits of completing a football scholarship abroad. Students over the years have gone to America to study at University and play collegiate Soccer
