BTec Level 3: Extended Certificate in ICT

This engaging programme is aimed at students who are interested in an introduction into the study of creating IT systems to manage and share information.

The course has both externally and internally assessed units.

External - Information Technology Systems (2hr written examination), Creating Systems to Manage Information (10 hour practical examination).

Internal - Using Social Media in Business, Website Development (all coursework)

2 Level 5's and 4 Level 4’s and above to include BTEC Level 2 in Information Communication Technology – Pass or GCSE Computer Studies Level 4, if taken. Access to a computer is essential.

You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Information and Communication Technology, which could lead onto higher education in areas of Information and Communication Technology or more general higher education courses as the course offers skills that are useful in lots of subjects. With further training you could go into a job directly related to Information and Communication Technology such as a Computer Programmer, ICT Technician or Website Developer. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge for entering today's workforce across many industries who depend on computers and technology more generally.
