Course Summary

This work related qualification is ideal for those interested in developing computer games and looking to join the industry of one of the fastest growing forms of entertainment. It will provide you with practical knowledge and experience, obtained by developing your skills using the latest industry standard software and hardware. Throughout the course, you will learn about all aspects of the games industry, and eventually will be able to specialise in the area you most enjoy.

Course Details

During the course you will:

  • Get hands on experience with industry standard software packages including Adobe CC, Blender and Unreal Engine
  • Increase knowledge of the current trends, technologies and production tools used in the games industry
  • Complete various games based projects following industry pipelines e.g. Games Demos, Art Pieces and 3D Assets
  • Develop an understanding of games theory and reasoning behind design choices
  • Gain an understanding of working to a client brief through project based assessment

Entry requirements

  • Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths,
  • or
  • a BTEC Extended Certificate at Merit grade, as well as GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above,
