Course Summary

This one year course provides an opportunity for learners to gain workshop skills along with classroom study.

It is ideal for those looking to train as a fully-skilled electrician, as it is a similar programme of study to electrical apprenticeships.

As a full-time student, you will be put through the requirements for Electrical Installations IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) as part of your programme of study.

Renewable Energies
Job Planning
Electrical Installation Techniques
Electrical Design
Electrical Testing & Fault Finding; and
Principles of Elelctrical Science.

Entry requirements

2 GCSEs at grade C/4 and above including Maths and English Language and two other GCSEs at grade 3 and above, also the achievement of EAL Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation at grade Pass including a performance assessment.

This one year course forms one major component on the journey to becoming a fully-skilled electrician as it is a similar programme of study to electrical apprentices. Many of our learners go on to secure apprenticeships as 3rd year entrants as they can demonstate to potential employers level 3 electrical skills and progression to being fully skilled in a shorter timeframe.
