Course Summary

Are you creative? Do you keep an eye on fashion trends and love talking to people? Then a full-time Hairdressing course at Heart of England Training could be for you. Unlike many other training providers and colleges, you will be learning at one of our commercial training salons and working on paying clients. This will give you invaluable real salon experience alongside building-up your practical and theoretical knowledge so – when the time comes for you to enter the world of work – your CV will stand-out from the crowd who may have no actual salon experience.

We offer Hairdressing at Levels 1, 2 and 3 – so you can progress through all levels with us. Heart of England Training has great links with employers – so if you would like to progress onto a paid apprenticeship or full-time employment, we can assist you.

Course Details

What makes us different is the commercial nature of our training academies: when you join one of our courses, you will be working on paying clients within the academy salon. That’s right – not just blockheads…real people! This empowers you to develop customer service skills as well as experience on the salon floor. Our facilities are well-equipped and we are very proud to stock and use Wella products in our college salons.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Your performance will be monitored throughout the programme by our Educators through demonstrations, practical observations, assignments and theory work. Some of your assessments will be completed within our commercial salon.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However, if you do not hold a GCSE grade C/4 in English and Maths then we will support you in achieving this through incorporating English and/or Maths functional skills or GCSEs into your training.

Your next steps...

Upon completion of the course, you can work towards the next level: either remaining on a full-time course or through an apprenticeship in a local salon or spa. Alternatively, our internal Information & Guidance Advisors can make recommendations and explore progression pathways with you.
