Course Summary
You will learn about how humans develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially throughout their lives, as well as how different factors can influence this development.
Course Details
You’ll explore how health and social care services operate, including the principles, values, and legislation that guide practice.
You’ll also study the biological systems of the human body and how they function in relation to health and well-being.
Throughout the course, you’ll develop key transferable skills such as communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to apply theory to real-life care situations.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Externally assessed units test your understanding of key concepts and application of knowledge (e.g., through written exams and set tasks).
Internally assessed units are based on assignments, case studies, and practical applications, allowing you to demonstrate understanding in realistic health and social care contexts. This balance helps you build both academic knowledge and vocational skills.
Exams/coursework will take place in both years.
