Introduction to the Hair & Beauty Sector Diploma

Unlike many other training providers and colleges, you will be learning at one of our commercial training salons and working on real paying clients. This will give you invaluable real salon experience alongside building up your practical and theoretical knowledge so when the time comes for you to enter the world of work, your CV will stand out from the crowd who may have no actual salon experience.

Level 1 is ideal if you're just starting out in hair and beauty and want an understanding of the industry - enough to succeed in a job in the area or to move on to further study.

There are three qualifications available at this level:

• Level 1 Award in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector
• Level 1 Certificate in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector
• Level 1 Diploma in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector.

Whichever qualification you choose, you complete two mandatory units:

• Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
• Presenting a professional image in a salon.

Depending on whether you choose the shorter award or the longer certificate or diploma, you also choose one or a number of optional units from a range of 12, including:

• Skin care
• Nail art application
• Styling men's hair
• Styling women's hair
• The art of photographic make-up.
