What will I study?

You must complete three mandatory and two optional units to be awarded the Extended Certificate in IT: Data Analytics.

How will I study?

Course Details

The three mandatory units are:

• Unit F200: Fundamentals of Data Analytics

This unit is assessed by an exam. The exam is 1 hour and 15 minutes and has 60 marks in total. All questions in the exam are compulsory.

• Unit F201: Big Data and Machine Learning

This unit is assessed by an exam. The exam is 1 hour and 30 minutes and has 60 marks in total. All questions in the exam are compulsory.

• Unit F202: Spreadsheet Data Modelling

Assessed by written assignments

The two optional units are:

• Unit F204: Data and the Internet of Everything (IoE)

Assessed by internal assignment

• Unit F205: Data Visualisation

Assessed by internal assignment


How will it be delivered and assessed?

How is the course examined?

This AAQ in IT: Data Analytics is assessed by two written exams one of 1 hour and 15 minutes and one of 1 hour and 30 minutes and a portfolio of assignments. It is graded: Pass, Merit, and Distinction. Students can obtain a Distinction* grade overall.


Entry requirements

In addition to the standard College entry requirements, this course requires students to have achieved grade 4 or above in GCSE Mathematics.
