Course Summary
Why study this subject?
This is a two year course.
-You have a keen interest in sport, physical activity and health and well-being
-You prefer a course with a greater focus on assessment through coursework
-Units and assignments are set around scenarios linked to the working world and therefore approach learning and assessment from a different angle to traditional A Levels.
This course covers a wide range of topic areas which will help you to enter a career or further education within the physical activity and health sector.

Unit 1- Anatomy and Physiology
Unit 2- Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being
Unit 3- Professional Development in the Sports Industry
Unit 7- Practical Sports Performance
How will it be delivered and assessed?
This course is assessed through a mixture of coursework (assignments) and examinations. Over the duration of the course you will cover three mandatory units and one optional unit.
Entry requirements
To join the Sixth Form there is an entry criteria of five standard passes at GCSE (at least a Grade 4). This must include at least a Grade 4 in English Language and Maths at GCSE. Students will need to gain at least a Grade 4 in the subjects they would like to study at A Level.
