Course Summary
The Health and Science T level that specialises in adult nursing team support is crammed with industry-standard content employers specifically need. Industry leaders developed the two-year course to prepare you for an active role in the health and science workplace.
Alongside equally dedicated, enthusiastic classmates, you gather the skills and knowledge you need to work as an adult healthcare assistant or to progress to a higher-level apprenticeship or a degree.
For 80% of the T level, you�re in the classroom, learning core scientific concepts and key regulations that apply across the health and science sector. Armed with this knowledge, you step into a 45-day placement with an adult nursing team to work on an employer-set project, so you can really dive into your career and get the feel for life as an adult healthcare assistant.
You will take part in activities that help you to develop your personal skills, such as building your character and confidence. This will help you to live well and move into your chosen career.
Course Details
Step into your year-one classroom and a world of essential health and science knowledge and skills welcome you in. You learn all about person-centred care, health and wellbeing as well as how to manage personal information. You dive into the science of diseases, disorders, human anatomy and physiology, and your tutors explain how to prevent and control infection in health-specific settings.
You learn how the industry works, explore healthcare roles and pathways and the exciting diversity of employers and organisations you could work for. And your friendly tutors introduce you to all the contexts, theories and principles vital to the health and science industry.
By the end of year one, you have a solid understanding of core scientific concepts and key regulations: managing information, health and safety and good scientific/clinical practice. When year two arrives, you get into the heart of adult nursing team support � your chosen specialism. With your classmates, you go deep into what adult nursing means, how you can support the team and really see how carers meet the needs of adults.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
There are several formal assessments during the two years: external exams, controlled assessments, practical summary assignments and an employer-led set project.�
Together, the assessments generate an overall grade of pass, merit, distinction or distinction*.
At the end of your T level, you receive a nationally recognised certificate with a clear breakdown of your achievements. The T level can be worth up to 168 UCAS points.
Entry requirements
T levels are for people who are 16-18 on 31 August on the date that they start the course.
You need the following to be accepted on the Health and Science T level:
5 GCSEs including maths and English and double science at grade 4 or higher
one reference (this is usually from your school).
90% attendance at school (or your last place or work/ study) � this is desirable.
