We provide access to expert teaching and learning to develop your knowledge, skills and experience, industry standard facilities and resources, and an excellent network of support services, that will positively influence you during your time with us and beyond. We offer a wide range of qualifications and pathways, so that you can find the right route for your own journey, and we will support you at every step on the way, with appropriate advice and guidance, so that you achieve, progress, and meet your goals.

At Leicester College, we strive to support all of our students. We offer a careers service to help students progress successfully into education, employment, and training. Also, our learning coaches and mentors offer a lot of support. A mentor will work with you to meet your pastoral needs, while a learning coach gets more actively involved in the academic side of College life. We offer ongoing support for our students with special educational needs and disabilities. Also, we provide free and confidential sexual health and counselling services for all of our learners. Here at Leicester College all of our support team are friendly and experienced they will listen to your needs and help you to work out your next course of action. The welfare team is available at Student Services at Abbey Park and Freemen’s Park Campus sites. The team at Leicester College offer a range of services to learners:

Leicester College is an Associate College of De Montfort University and works with the University to provide pathways to degree level in many subject areas following study at the College. Our excellent industry-standard facilities and expert teaching provide our students with the knowledge, skills, and experience to be a leader in their chosen field, opening doors to employment and further education. With smaller class sizes than most universities, studying with us means you receive more personalised attention and support from our teaching staff. We have some very well known alumni, who have excelled in their chosen careers: for example, celebrity fashion designer and TV presenter Gok Wan studied at Leicester College, as did Aaron Patterson, the Head Chef at Hambleton Hall, who studied Culinary Arts at Leicester College and won his first Michelin Star at age 23.

A little different to other FE Colleges as we also have a HE provision you have access to The Student Union. The Student Union is run by students for students. The ‘executive’, as they’re known, are voted into their positions by fellow learners twice yearly. A major part of their role is learner representation, giving learners a voice and ensuring that their views are heard, shared, and acted upon appropriately by our leadership team.

By Road – From the North, South and West take the M1 motorway, Junction 21 or M69, Leicester junction. From the East, take the A47 or A6.

We welcome students and apprentices from a diverse range of backgrounds, that reflect the diversity of Leicester, Leicestershire and beyond and offer a vast range of training for adults and young people, both part time and full time, from entry level to level 6, whether you are looking to upskill or retrain for the workplace, learn a new skill in the evening, develop a pathway into your career or progress onto higher education. Leicester College is situated at the heart of the community, with three main campuses across the city, neighbourhood venues, and online or bespoke delivery. 

Deadlines

Applications received by 31 January will be guaranteed a place at the college. We will try our best to offer a place on the chosen course but sometimes we may have to offer an alternative course. Offers are subject to meeting the following conditions:

• Attend a welcome event (if invited)

• Provide any information we request

• Meet the entry requirements

From 1 February to 30 June, we still welcome applications, but when there is high demand for courses, we will prioritise people who have applied by 31 January.

From 1 July onwards people can still apply but the application will not be processed until our main enrolment has been completed and all previous applications dealt with.

Applicants will only be able to see the progress of their application through our Learner Hub system. Each applicant will be set up an account and will be emailed to verify their account. We will then process this setup and email/text applicants directly, as necessary.
