Gateway Sixth Form College

Gateway Sixth Form College supports around 1,400 learners from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland providing a range of vocational, academic and technical courses from Entry to Employment, Entry Level, GCSE English and Maths to A Levels/Level 3 and T Level qualifications.

Based in Hamilton, Leicester, the college is situated on a purpose built 12 acre site. Gateway College strives to deliver ‘excellence in education’ and enables students to have a personalized learning experience aiming to challenge, inspire and motivate regardless of a student’s background or ability.

Gateway College celebrates the diversity of its staff and students and through links with the local community, businesses and regional and national universities, students are well placed to go on to succeed in their chosen field, whether that be higher education, sport, employment or self- employment. This is recognized through the growing Gateway Alumni Community.

Since March 2025, we have received Grade 2 (Good) in all areas from Ofsted, officially making Gateway College a Good provider

Support for every student

At Gateway Sixth Form College we aim to develop the full potential of every student. We care about each individual which is why we work closely with your school so that you will have a smoother transition into college life. We attach great importance in helping each of you to achieve your full potential and a wide range of support is available to ensure you reach your goals.

Ensuring you have an outstanding experience is at the heart of the work that the Gateway College Student Experience Team undertake. The work that Heads of SET, and Learner Performance Tutors (LPTs) do is focused on support, guidance and ensuring you have every opportunity to experience a full and exciting Programme of Study.

If you need access to additional support, careers or counselling advice the Student Experience Team are your first point of call. You will have a weekly group tutorial, and regular 1-1 sessions with a specially assigned LPT whose aim is to monitor and ensure that you are on track to complete to your full potential.

The Careers and Employability department will support you through the UCAS process, provide help to research and find suitable universities, provide opportunities to secure apprenticeships, or enter the world of work if this is your goal.
