BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development (Brooksby College)

This qualification is intended for learners wanting to progress into the coaching and development sector. The breadth of content in this qualification allows learners to widen their opportunities to progress to a number of different higher education courses.

Students on this course have the option to specialise in our Sports Academies; Football or Leicester Tigers Rugby.

Throughout the course of study, students will be exposed to state of the art, industry leading coaching software and technology and gain first-hand experience in applying newly learned skills to professional organisations.

Developing Coaching Skills

Sport Development

Self Employment in Sport and Physical Activity

Practical Sports Application

Year 2

Influence of Technology in Sport and Physical Activity

Research Project in Sport

Applied Coaching Skills

Anatomy & Physiology in Sport

Technical and Tactical Skills in Sport

Sports Psychology

Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English Language and Maths.

Learners may wish to progress onto a Sports related degree course. Alternatively, students may choose to progress onto an apprenticeship or directly into employment within the Sports industry. Employment opportunities include Sports Coaching, Personal Training or becoming a Fitness Instructor.
