Course Summary

The Health and Social Care sector plays an important part of our society. The level 3 course is equivalent to A-levels and lets you learn through a mixture of practical and theory methods. You will be able to learn in an environment that reflects the working Health & Social care industry, learning about working practices, employability skills, practical skills and much more. This course can help you to create a positive bond with the people you are caring for, the requirements needed to be safe, practical skills and a range of skills for you to apply to different client groups.

You will study a range of mandatory units including:

• Human Lifespan Development

• Working in Health and Social Care

• Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs

• Psychological Perspectives


How will it be delivered and assessed?

2 assignments / 2 examinations

(Please be aware that the Department for Education is currently reviewing Applied General Qualifications for 16-19 year olds, with publication of the findings not due until December 2024. Following this, we will update our course offer and units for September 2025 entry.)

Entry requirements

Requirements 4 GCSE at Grade C/4 (or above) or a relevant Level 2 qualification. Must include English Language GCSE at grade C/4 minimum.
