Level 1 Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector

If you're interested in hair and beauty, this course provides a useful introduction to working in a variety of professions within the beauty therapy and hairdressing sectors.

Alongside practical work, you will study other skills, such as working with others, to enhance both your knowledge of the industry and your employability. There will also be opportunities to complete work experience.

Students will cover:

• Shampoo and condition treatments
• Blow-drying and styling techniques
• Create and image
• Hand care
• Health and safety
• Work placement
• Skin care

• GCSEs in English and Maths at grades G/1 or higher
• Able to show a capability to work at Level 1 and a clear interest in chosen subject
• Demonstrates a commitment to learning

You can progress on to a City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy at Loughborough College.

Students may have the opportunity to study Functional Skills or GCSEs in maths and English.
