This course is ideal for students who are progressing from Level 1 or with some previous work experience in the Motor Vehicle industry.

Job Roles in the Motor Industry

Materials and Fabrication principles in the motor industry

Routine Light Vehicle Maintenance (Service and Inspection)

Engine Component Removal

Fuel Systems

Lubrication and Cooling Systems

Light Vehicle Electrical Systems

Chassis Components (Steering, Suspension and Brakes)

Transmission Systems

Removal and Refitting of Body Panels

All units contain a knowledge and skills element

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Maths and English

Your next steps...

Students may wish to progress directly into employment, or progress onto a Level 3 full time course or an apprenticeship. Past students have become mechanics, MOT Testers and Service Technicians. Others have started their own businesses or gained employment with dealerships or breakdown services.
