Course Summary

This one year course aims to give a broad understanding of the knowledge and skills that are essential when working with people. You will develop and sustain an interest in health, early years and education, social care, youth and community and issues that affect the care sector.


Course Details

Many students that study the Health and Social Care Cambridge Technical Level 2 Diploma progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care at Gateway College before progressing onto a university course or entering full time employment or apprenticeship.

You will need a DBS check to make sure you are suitable for work experience in the health and social care sector.

All units are assessed through your coursework. There are no exams for this course.

Health and Social Care courses give a good foundation for working with vulnerable people and the Level 2 course is a sound progression to study at Level 3. Courses and careers you can progress on to include: Counselling, Paramedic and job roles in the NHS, Health Promotion, Educational support work, Social Work specialising in children, adults with additional needs, older service users etc, Probation and Police, Youth and Community Work, Nursery Nurse and Child Care.
