Course Summary

A T Level is split into three main sections:

Technical qualification (TQ) is the main, classroom-based element. Students will learn about their chosen sectors through a curriculum designed by employers and developed by an awarding organisation (AO).

Industry placement runs for a minimum of 315 hours (45 days) overall and will give students practical insights into their sector and an opportunity to embed the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.

English, maths and digital provision are also built into the classroom-based element of the T Level, meaning students will be given a solid foundation of transferable skills.

Core

The core element of a T Level in Health will boost your knowledge in a range of topics such as the principles of good scientific practice, standard operating procedures, management of equipment and work areas. You will also learn about providing person centred care, infection control and revisit core science concepts. You will learn using practical hands on experience using state of the art equipment as part of our bespoke Health suite.

Occupational Specialism

Adult Nursing

You will then specialise in assisting with overall personal care, clinical tasks and undertaking physiological measurements. The purpose of this specialism is to assist the adult nursing team with clinical tasks. You will learn to support individuals to meet activities of daily living including clinical care. You will assist with skin integrity assessments and with the care and treatment of skin conditions.

Your next steps...

This T Level focuses on the development of knowledge and skills needed to work in Adult Nursing and prepares students to enter the sector through employment. For example, you could gain direct employment as an ambulance support worker, healthcare support worker, senior health support worker or as an Apprentice. UCAS points will be attached with a value equivalent to three A Levels so that the completion of this qualification gives learners the opportunity to progress onto higher education courses and training.
