Course Summary
Gateway Sixth Form College are proud to have been selected to deliver the innovative DFN Project Search programme, a one-year transition to work programme, partnering with a growing number of industry leaders to support students with complex needs into meaningful work. From healthcare and hospitality, to catering and customer service, students will learn a wealth of skills and gain real life experience which can lead to paid employment.
Course Details
Students are required to apply for this unique programme to ensure they are ready for the challenges and opportunities it presents. And, with the support of our skilled team of Job Coaches and specialist staff across a range of sectors, participants will undertake a 12-month Supported Internship made up of 3 different work placements, each one lasting for 10-12 weeks.
Whilst on placement, students will also attend Gateway for 1 day a week to study the following topics:
- Health and safety
- Interview skills
- CV Writing
- Dress to impress
- Communication skills
- Healthy lifestyles
- Travel training
- Units to develop wider employability skills
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The course is assessed by the combination of the work placements and the tasks undertaken during the learning time at college.
Entry requirements
- No formal qualifications are needed
- You must have an EHCP
- You must be willing to undertake travel training or be travel trained
- You must want to gain employment
- Potentially 18 years of age to work in NHS
