Course Summary
Applied Science is a vocational complement to A Levels and ideal for learners looking to broaden their knowledge of a particular sector. This course offers a practical introduction to science and supports progression to further study or employment. This course helps learners develop the fundamental scientific knowledge and practical skills valued by universities and employers.
This is a two year course.
Course Details
Learners will:
-Practice experimental scientific techniques and explore how they apply to industry
-Develop their knowledge and understanding of concepts in biology, chemistry and physics
-Plan and carry out scientific investigations of their own choosing
-Explore ways in which topical scientific issues are presented in the media
-Investigate the role of scientists and the different career pathways open to them

Entry requirements
To join the Sixth Form there is an entry criteria of five standard passes at GCSE (at least a Grade 4). This must include at least a Grade 4 in English Language and Maths at GCSE. Students will need to gain at least a Grade 4 in the subjects they would like to study at A Level.
