Course Summary
This full time Level 1 course gives you a first step into Electrical Installation and the wider building services sector. You develop core knowledge of how electrical systems work and build practical skills in wiring, terminations and safe use of tools in industry standard workshops at Harrowbrook.
You study health and safety, environmental protection, installation methods and basic electrical science alongside practical craft skills. Teaching mixes classroom theory with hands on tasks so you build confidence before progressing to the next level.
The course suits school leavers who want to explore a career as an electrician or in building services but who have little or no previous experience. The qualification does not make you a fully qualified electrician. It prepares you for Level 2 Electrical Installation at NWSLC or an electrical apprenticeship, where you move closer to industry employment.
Your study programme also includes maths and English where needed, tutorial, personal development and work experience.
