Course Summary

This Level 2 Media Skills course is a full-time, one-year programme designed to help you dive into the exciting world of media production and content creation.

You’ll start by learning the basics and then build up to more advanced skills, discovering how to tell stories visually, plan your shoots, and edit your films using industry-standard software like Adobe Premiere Pro. You’ll also get hands-on with smaller skills projects varying from areas like stop motion animation, bringing models or everyday objects to life in creative and imaginative ways.

Visual communication- Don’t worry if drawing isn’t your thing — what matters is that you’re comfortable sharing your work and open to getting feedback to help you improve.

Managing a production workflow – effective approaches to managing your time and meeting deadlines — is essential not just here, but in any creative career.

You’ll work on projects that teach you how to plan carefully and stay organised, helping you build strong habits for the future. Along the way, you’ll explore professional examples of films and media, learning how experts tell stories and how you can use those ideas in your own work.

You’ll also get to research different careers in the creative industries and think about your own strengths and goals — helping you understand the opportunities your media skills can open up for you.
