Course Summary
This course provides learners with the opportunities to study a broad range of areas, related to popular music. It is a two-year full-time programme that is aimed at musicians who are interested in developing the necessary skills and knowledge required to work both within the music industry, and for degree level studies. Whilst studying on this course, working in a band environment, developing effective rehearsal techniques and good communication and performance skills are among some of the main areas of focus within the programme. This is alongside working towards Grade 5-8 music theory, song writing techniques and more technical aspects such as recording and live sound.

Entry requirements
4 GCSE�s at grade C/4 or above or a relevant level 2 qualification. Learners will also be assessed on instrumental abilities during the audition process.

Candidates who successfully complete the BTEC Level 3 90-Credit Diploma in Music(Performing) will need to progress onto the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music to gain the full level 3 qualification before moving onto HNC, HND, Foundation Degree or Degree.
