Course Summary
T Levels are a brand-new qualification designed to give you a head start towards the future you want. The 2-year T Level qualification brings classroom and work placement together on a course designed with industry professionals. You will spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% in an industry placement to give you the skills and knowledge employers are looking for.
Course Details
This course is ideal if you are looking for a career in early years education, childcare or assisting teaching. All students will develop an understanding of: understanding the education and childcare sector from ages 0 to 19; child development; how to support children and young peoples education; safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing; understanding and managing behaviour; observing and assessing children and young people; equality and diversity; special educational needs and disability; English as an additional language; working with parents, carers and wider families; working with agencies and services that support children, families and carers; reflective practice and other forms of professional development. In addition to the core content, you will choose one of the following specialisms: early years education and childcare; assisting teaching or supporting and mentoring students in educational settings.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
2 x written examinations Employer set project - Both above are combined for grading. Must achieve a minimum of a pass grade. Occupational Specialism - Must achieve a minimum of a pass grade. Synoptic assignment
Entry requirements
Entry requirements are 4 GCSE at Grade C/4 or above or a relevant Level 2 qualification. Must include English Language & maths GCSE at C/5.

Your next steps...
You can progress into roles such as: Nursery Worker, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, Playworker, Portage Home Visitor. You can also progress to a higher-level apprenticeship or degree course.
