Course Summary

T Levels are a brand-new qualification designed to give you a head start towards the future you want. The 2-year T Level qualification brings classroom and work placement together on a course designed with industry professionals. You will spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% in an industry placement to give you the skills and knowledge employers are looking for.

Course Details

This course is ideal if you want a career in health and healthcare. All students will develop a general understanding of health and science: working within the health and science sector; health, safety, and environmental regulations; managing information and data; principles of good scientific and clinical practice; core science concepts including the structure of cells, tissues and large molecules, genetics, microbiology, and immunology. You will also learn about topics specific to health, including understanding the healthcare sector; providing person-centred care; supporting health and wellbeing; further knowledge of both human anatomy and physiology and of diseases and disorders; infection prevention and control. In addition to the core content, you will choose one of the following specialisms: supporting the adult nursing team; supporting the midwifery team; supporting the mental health team; supporting the care of children and young people; supporting the therapy teams and dental nursing.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

2 x written examinations Employer set project - Both above are combined for grading. Must achieve a minimum of a pass grade. Occupational Specialism - Must achieve a minimum of a pass grade. Synoptic assignment

Entry requirements

Entry requirements are 4 GCSE at Grade C/4 or above or a relevant Level 2 qualification. Must include English Language & maths GCSE at C/5.

You can progress into roles such as: Ambulance Care Assistant, Emergency Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Care Worker, Palliative Care Assistant, Dental Nurse. You can also use this T Level to progress to a related higher-level apprenticeship or course of study at a higher level.
