Application Instructions

YEP usually only accepts learners with education, health and care plans (EHCPs), however, if you feel YEP is the right setting, please continue to apply and we will aim to see if a suitable program is available, and aim to meet your needs.

Course Summary

The MVS (Motor Vehicle Studies) course is one made up of theory and practical sessions working towards a level 1 qualification.

You will learn about:

Health & Safety

Braking Systems

Steering & Suspension

Liquid cooling and Lubrication

Routine Vehicle Maintenance

Battery & Lighting Systems

MOT Checks and Preparation

Course Details

You will be enrolled onto a Study Programme, a recognised full-time course which will (in addition to the Motor Vehicle Qualification) include Maths, English and employability skills

We will also work on your Personal and Social Development (PSD)

Important: Please ensure that YEP is not your only option selected for the year 2025-26, whilst we confirm how the courses will be funded.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessment is achieved through your portfolio of evidence that you will build up as you go through the course.

There are no examinations, it is purely based on the practical work and the write-ups that you do in your sessions and in the classroom.

Entry requirements

Currently not in education.

Willingness to work on motor vehicles within a team setting.

Ability to work in a garage environment.
