A Level: Business Studies

A new specification started in September 2015 that splits down into 10 smaller units of work over 2 years for the full A level (6 units in year 1 and 4 in year 2). You will have the opportunity to study the four key areas of business; Finance, Marketing, Operations and Human Resource Management in a variety of situations.

You will have the opportunity to study the four key areas of business; Finance, Marketing, Operations and Human Resource Management in a variety of situations.The course also offers opportunities to see business working at close quarters, incl uding an annual trip to Europe

Assessment is through exams at either AS Level (end of year 1) - 2 exams and/or A2 Level (end of year 2) - 3 exams.

Grade 5 in GCSE Business if subject taken.

You could take this course with other advanced level courses such as Accounting to prepare for higher education in areas of business studies, marketing, accounting, finance, human resources or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to business studies, marketing, finance and accounting, human resources and public relations. You could also look at doing a trainee management course within a company to gain the skills, understanding and experience that they require so you can work at management level.
