Course Summary
This course is not just about learning to use tools or training in a programming language, instead the emphasis is on computational thinking. Computational thinking is a kind of reasoning used by both humans and machines. You will understand how
computers operate, understand why they operate the way they do and also develop
the necessary skills in order to develop your own methods to interact with a computer. We want to teach students how to be effective users of ICT today, but also the creators of ICT tomorrow. .
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Paper 1 2hr 30 min on screen exam (40% of final A Level grade)
Paper 2 - 2hr 30 min written exam (40% of final A LEvel grade)
Non exam assessment - 75 marks (20% of final A Level grade)
Entry requirements
Grade 6 in GCSE Computer Science and Grade 6 in Maths.
