Course Summary
An exciting and dynamic analysis of human interaction with the planet in the 21st Century. As an issuesbased course you will be equipped to answer some critical issues and problems in the world such as destruction of natural environments, people and hazards, global poverty, climate change. The focus moves from local to global issues and is complemented by a programme of residential fieldwork.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Exam 80%, one piece of coursework 20%.
Entry requirements
Must gain a Grade 5 in GCSE Geography if studied, a Grade 5 or above in GCSE English Literature.
Your next steps...
You could take this course with other advanced level courses to prepare for higher education in areas of geography, humanities, science or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go on to a job related to geography and work as a Town Planner, Environmental Officer or Weather Forecaster. The course also helps you to develop the basic skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
